AGM

Annual General Meeting (AGM)

The N Gauge Society Annual General Meeting is held within 15 months of the previous AGM for the presentation of reports from the Committee, and discussion and decisions on any proposals put forward by members.

Officers and other appointments are elected for the following year.  These formal activities are as outlined in our Constitution and Byelaws.

To give members a little more inspiration, we also organise an exhibition and an Annual Model Making Competition (AMMC) on the same day, making the event a great day of N gauge modelling although this has been suspended for 2020.

While the competition is only open the NGS members, the exhibition is usually open to the public.

Note that the exhibition normally precedes the AGM and therefore closes early in the afternoon.

2020 AGM Date

The 2020 AGM has been postponed from July until later in the year due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Please note that this will also be the  Annual General Meeting of N Gauge Society Limited (a Company Limited by Guarantee Registered at Companies House number 11718121)

The Articles and Memorandum of Association of the Company (in other words the rules) can be found at
https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/11718121

under Filing History where they can be downloaded on a pdf.

Admission to the AGM will be free to members of the Society on production of an NGS membership card. It is planned to hold a Convention before the AGM rather than an exhibition.

All nominations shall be signed by the proposer and seconder and counter signed by the Member nominated signifying his/her consent to the nomination. All nominations will be notified to the Returning Officer.

Notice of any matters or resolutions to be discussed at the AGM and properly proposed and seconded should be forwarded to myself as General Secretary by  Friday 1st May 2020.

Any urgent matters should be notified to the Chairman 48 hours before the AGM. The Chairman may also permit Members to raise matters under Any Other Business.

The Annual Model Making Competition will not take place in 2020.
