I am pleased to report that, thanks to the team we have put together, we seem to be (for the moment at least) getting on top of this situation.
A total of 72 orders have been processed in the past 24 hours, with the Shop items either already despatched or scheduled to be collected by RM from the Shop Manager today. Membership renewals have been processed and added to the membership list and new members will be sent their “welcome packs” as soon as we have the new regime in place to do so.
Plans continue to properly set up the new membership system and the team are having a further meeting online tonight (30th July 2025) to work out the next stages of this process.
I am extremely pleased to report that we also seem to be getting one or two applications to take on at least a part of the Membership role and the new General Secretary (Tony Woodruff) and I will be pursuing these right away. As much as the current team seem to be “managing”, it has been a lot of hard work for all these volunteers on top of what they already do, so any help in the longer term will (naturally) be greatly appreciated.
Once again, if you feel that you can offer your services for a few hours per week to assist in this or indeed any of the OTHER roles in the Society then please e-mail either the General Secretary or myself in the first instance. Even if we have volunteers in position for some of the Society roles right now, having a “reserve” for them can only be beneficial.
It only remains for me to express my heartfelt thanks to the entire team for their work so far and to assure our members that everything possible is done to resolve the situation as quickly as we are able.
Very best regards
Arthur Frost
Chairman, NGS
