Ready to Run

The N Gauge Society produces a large number of kits and ready to run items all available to members of the Society. These can be purchased from the online shop or through mail order or from the stand at major shows.


Hunslet Shunter

The Hunslet industrial 0-6-0 shunter is the NGS’s first powered ready-to-run offering. Many of these locomotives were built from the 1960’s onwards and saw use in many industrial locations. Some are still in use whilst others are preserved.

Ferryvan

The Ferryvan is our most recent ready-to-run model. It is available in a wide variety of liveries to suite a number of periods.


Car Flats

Carflat

Hundreds of car flats were produced from redundant coach chassis in the 1950’s and many remained in service until almost the end of the last century.

Stock of the car flats is running very low with just a few remaining.

Thompson Full Brake

In 1947 the LNER built 25 of these to carry luggaage on the Flying Scotsman and other crack East Coast Expresses.


Inspection Saloon

During the 1940’s the LMS constructed several 50 feet saloons to enable senior managers, engineers and ther railway’s guests the opportunity to inspect the line in style.

Queen Mary Brakevan

The Queen Mary Brake Van dates from 1936 when they were introduced by the Southern Railway. The name derives from the size of the van (when compared with the similarly named large ocean liner of the period).


Independent Snowplough

The BR Independent Snowplough dates from the 1960’s but with some still in service with Network Rail.

Stove R

The LMS Stove R saw service with the LMS and British Railways. Built in the 1930’s the Stove R was a 6 wheeled gangwayed brake van. Limited numbers of the Pullman livery are in stock.
