To celebrate the forthcoming N Gauge Society Diamond Jubilee, the society is planning to offer a specially-commissioned, Limited-Edition Wagon.
The wagon will be made by Peco, our Diamond Jubilee main sponsor. It will be available to buy at the Diamond Jubilee Event and later from our online shop and exhibition stands. Pre-orders will be taken once we have made the production order and these will be dispatched to members after the Diamond Jubilee event. There will be more detailed information in the pre-order form. The wagon will remain on sale for one year after the Jubilee event, or until stocks run out.
About the wagon
The wagon used for this model is a Plywood-Sided Vanfit body on a 10ft wheelbase chassis. Each wagon will be provided in a special edition box, showing the unique limited-edition number. For demonstration purposes the image shown below (LHS) here is No. 1 of 1000. The number produced will depend on demand. An image of an early concept for the wagon is also shown (below, RHS).
Pricing & Availability
This will be a one-off, limited edition run and the proposed price will be around £25 (incld. VAT) per wagon. NGS members will be able to purchase up to 3 wagons each.

When will the wagons be available to buy?
The release date for sale has not yet been confirmed. But it will be around the time of the Diamond Jubilee event in October 2027.
How much will the wagon cost?
In the region of £25 per wagon.
Talking to members at the Bristol show this price point was seen as affordable and fair.
How many wagons will the Society order in total?
This depends on the level of interest by members, ascertained from the Expression of Interest form, above. We’ll add a small number on top of that for sales at the Jubilee event and thereafter. There will be no re-run of this wagon. Once the wagons have sold out then “that’s it”!

How many wagons can I buy?

Can I pre-order a wagon online for delivery by post?
Yes, you can! Orders will be taken starting in early July 2027.
Will there be wagons available to buy after the Diamond Jubilee event?
Yes. Any remaining stock will be available through the NGS webstore and from our show stands.
If I order multiple wagons can I have consecutive numbered boxes?
We’ll do our best to oblige, but this may not always be possible.
When will my pre-ordered wagon be dispatched?
After the Diamond Jubilee event. We’re anticipating dispatch will be on, or around, 3rd November 2027.
How much will Post & Packaging cost?
Subject to any dramatic changes in Royal Mail postage rates we anticipate P&P will be around £4.00 for UK orders.
Where can I see examples of the wagon?
The wagon will be on our show stand when we attend exhibitions. It will also be on show at the Diamond Jubilee event itself!
